County Carlow
Carlow is one of the Irish Counties favoured by having much of its Celtic past largely undisturbed. Carlow was created during the reign of King John (1199-1216 AD). However Art McMurrough Kavanagh of Borris reclaimed his Kingdom by defeating Richard II in 1394. Carlow County remained a total Gaelic enclave for centuries after this.
